On a typical cartoweb application, like plan.epfl.ch, the session size is on the
first map display takes 140Kbytes, which is quite big (layers.ini is 408 lines
long).

Among those 140Kbytes, the usage is divided in:

- layers plugin: 136K
- other plugins and non plugin stuff: 4K

I think some basic optimisations in what information is saved in the session
could decrease the session size a lot. This also has a strong impact on the
views, because all the session information is saved there.
