I may add a few comments:

* If someone did already manage to compile it on Windows, please add the
information on the bug 1212 how to do it [1] (and send the binary to
Raphael ;-) ).

* How far did you get in the compilation ? If you have some tips which
could save time to someone who wants to compile it on Windows, thanks to
put them on the bug report above.
