[Cartoweb-users] Cartoweb Map Window and Ref Map

Hi Users,

Can someone tell me what the best utility or technique is for creating a new
'map extent' from an image with it's corresponding reference map. I've been
using ArcMap to export the AOI to a tif or png. For example are the GDAL
utilities suitable?. What does everyone use?
