OK, the repository is outdated in the manual. I've just commited a fix 
that redirects towards the dedicated page on the wiki:
http://cartoweb.org/cwiki/DebianPackages

The newest repository is http://dev.camptocamp.com/packages/debian/20060714/
and the dbase extension is included in the main php5 package.
