I could reproduce this with the demoCW3 project using the following procedure: 1. open the demoCW3 project and login so pdf export is available 2. zoom into the map somewhere, e.g. set a scale of 1:750.000 3. activate pdfrotate - the rectangle can be moved now 4. using the pan tool, move the map so the area that was covered by the pdf preview is completely outside the visible map area 5. go back to the previous extent, either using the pan tool or "previous" from the new bboxHistory plugin 6. activate pdfrotate again Now it is possible to change all settings of the preview rectangle, i.e. scale, format, orientation, but it is not possible to move the rectangle anymore. I would like to know if someone can reproduce this behavior and if there is a solution. There are no JavaScript errors. Also, I updated to the current CVS version yesterday. Further, I would like to know, how the position of the preview rectangle can be reset. I.e. if pdfrotate is activated, I would like to position the rectangle centered at the current map. Currently it stays at its last position and is often not visible if the map was moved. Also, if we refresh the map (when adding a new layer for instance), the scale value disappear and will only reappear if we zoom or if we move a bit with the pan action). We looked at the existing project and saw that either it was also the case (as for the test project) or else the scale value was not displayed. Did we miss something important ? I set it up like it is described in the new example and I can start my site without error but there was no result of the search. I tried to log the event in order to find out which SQl was sent to the pgsql database but the cartoweb.log does not show anything regarding this. First question: is there another log somewhere showing the sql??). I changed the table name in the database to provoke an error and got finally then sql string sent and found out, that the where clause did not send my search string but the column name with @ like: @@ (@emri@) . This could not return anything of course. I inserted the column name "@@" in the search field in database and got a hit! What could this be and where can I find the Script which does the search and builds the sql???? Further the click on the entry does not trigger the re-centre action but if I put manually the ID in the textbox it works. Wonder why. Any hints? These results are a set of polygons which rapresent buildings, church etc... well, they'd like to see these polygons as enlighted and the current view shoud be auto set in the minimal box which contains all the enlighted polygons. It could happen that the polygons could be too small, if they are far one from another but it does not matter. Any idea about it? In my search-plug-in I retrieve the geometry of polygon, and the map file displays the shape files, how can I superimpose the selected geometries ? do I have to create another layer dinamically set. Thank for your info. I saw the link http://maps.live.com/, is there anybody which knows this technology? The layersroot is somewhere inside that container and has "overflow:auto", as Alexandre wrote. Regards, Dirk Alexandre Saunier wrote: > Hello > > since the layers tree is enclosed in >

I have solid if not extensive experience with web application development (PHP, MySQL, Mapserver, ASP, ASP.NET), but not much experience with server setup and maintenance. After a full 2 days of reading and experimenting, I still cannot get a basic Cartoweb demo to run... hope I can get some pointers to get setup. The existing configuration is Windows Server 2003, IIS 6.0, Mapserver 4.6.0, PHP 5.1.2. There is a functioning Mapserver website running. My first goal is to install Cartoweb and run the demos. I downloaded cartoweb-withdemo-3.3.0.zip and unzipped it in it's own new directory. First of all, I cannot get the "prerequisites" going. I have copied php_mapscript.dll to the PHP extensions directory, I have made sure that cgi.force_redirect=0. When I go to cartoweb3 info.php I get the error message "WARNING: can't load mapscript library". Nonetheless, after wrestling with that problem for too long, I tried to continue with the cartoweb install, hoping that maybe I'd gain some more insight or ideas in the process. I executed the basic setup command: php cw3setup.php --install --base-url http://umaacorn.provost.ads.umass.edu/acorncw/cartoweb3/htdocs but I get blank windows when I go to client.php or demoCW3.php... they load but there's no HTML content. I have tried dozens of other things - messing around with the IIS configuration (currently it seems to be using php5isapi.dll, so I've tried php-cgi.exe with no luck, but maybe I didn't set it up right). I would love to have a step-by-step or a checklist to go by... but will settle for help of any kind! Hope someone out there with similar setup and/or experience will lend a hand, and I'll be glad to return favors in the future! I suppose you already had a look at http://www.php.net/manual/en/install.windows.iis.php ? especially the users comments I fear this is all I can do, sorry regards Oliver > I've been asked to work on an existing Mapserver site, including > redeploying it as a Cartoweb project. You may savely ignore dlls that show the timer, e.g > DWMAPI.dll, SHLWAPI.DLL. Done. However, I get this warning for MPR.dll - I think from what I read on the web that I can ignore this warning? "Warning: At least one module has an unresolved import due to a missing export function in a delay-load dependent module." > > Now, php should be able to load the Mapscript extension. Check it with > the phpinfo() function. Nope :( phpinfo() doesn't show anything about "mapscript", and the info() function provided with cartoweb (which just tries to load mapscript and then calls phpinfo) also gives warning that mapscript is not loaded. The only 2 things that appeared anomalous when following the instructions were my inability to get PHP error logging to work and the warning about MPR.dll in the dependency walker - are either of those likely candidates for why mapscript isn't loading? If it does not, I have no idea why, could be a > version conflict or a wrong dll. One should work at least. Same for all the other 'edit_attributes' you have in your mapfile for the editable layers, only use |string or |integer. Maybe this will also solve the javascript errors you get. If not, try to give me the exact error message. regards Oliver ----- Original Message ----- From: Broun Uganda To: Oliver Christen ; cartoweb-users@lists.maptools.org Sent: Thursday, June 14, 2007 6:58 PM Subject: RE: [Cartoweb-users] Gettting the Edition plugin to work Dear Oliver here attached are the respective files you asked me. I have even installed postgres and put some maps which i can access. I have two related problems with the edition plugin though because i can not edit points, lines and polygons. They are only displayed. 1.. where do i define roles (editor, super user etc) other than the special roles? In the map file how do i specify the security for editing? Can i write "Security_edit" instead of "Security_view" and what is "some_specific parameter"? In a related example sql, tables are granted to www-data; is that an example of permissions i can set for a user ("www-data") 2.. It appears to me that not all the tool bar items are implemented or am wrong? How can i move points and lines with the tool bar? I have used the tool items but they don't move and give me an error of null object. If they moved would they take on the new coordinates automatically? I guess in short a description of the edit plugin functions related to layers and their metadata would help. When I try to add a point to map (to PostGIS layer), I see a table with TEXT|INTEGER editable fields. One of my fields is named "IMAGE" and user must enter here a relative path to this image on my WWW-server, for example "/cartoweb/incoming/12345.jpg". It works. But I want more. I'm new to PHP, so without any help I'll spend a lot of time on this task. What I want: 1. Look at the sample picture. I want to add 2 buttons at "image" text field ("Browse"- to select file from user disk, "Upload" - to upload it to server). I've added them (in dhtmlEdit.js), but JS sends ERROR on field (that is below 'image' text field) based on security reason. 2. By pressing "Upload" I want to upload selected file to server, server must generate new unique name to this file and return this new filename to user form into "image" text field without reloading main page. I know he basics of uploading files to server and it works, but how to attach it to CW in this special way? That's all, and I hope you can help me. You can find some in the sql data supplied within the demoEdit project in Cartoweb. Have a look at demoEdit_data.sql located in projects/demoEdit/server_conf). The data structure used in the demo includes an example of a trigger called "calc_surf_edit_poly" that computes the area of the inserted or updated feature. Thats just an idea. 1. I think I must place only one button near my "field with file attachment" to call a popup. 2. This popup must do uploading of file and generating its new name. 3. This popup, when closed, must return new filename to main form of "edition plugin" - with editable fields. Is it possible? Line 561 is when you set sbm1.value="userfile"; But why are your trying to set a value to the file input ? As far as I know you are not allowed to set a file value via javascript, only a user can select manualy a file. I suggest you try make your file upload formular works as a stand alone application (outside of cartoweb). Once it works, you can call it from a link that would be generated in the dhtmlEdit.js. To performe javascript action between the popup and the "parent" window, you simply have to give a name to the popup when creating it. Have a look at http://www.javascript-coder.com/window-popup/javascript-window-open.phtml Here is an example: mywindow = window.open ("http://www.foo.com","mywindow","location=1,status=1,scrollbars=1,width=100,height=100"); >From the popup you can access (call functions) the parent by using windows.opener, see http://www.webreference.com/js/tutorial1/opener.html for more infos. There are plenty of tutorial on the web about file upload and javascript popup handling, you shouldnt have much problem to do what you want. regards Oliver ----- Original Message ----- From: "????? ?????????" OGR allows to read data from mysql, so you can configure one mapserver layer to point to your mysql table.
