Do not know whether this is related, yet:

with the Mapserver 5.0 and 5.01 the Cartoweb 3.2 (3.4?) zoom to the
first visible scale does not work (at all) as it was with 4.X.
Perhaps this has something to do with the Mapserver change from
MAXSCALE & MINSCALE to MAXSCALEDENOM & MINSCALEDENOM?

Also true type markers are shown only as colored quadrangles, but this
might be on the Mapserver side (AGG rendering bug?, "Fixed legend
icons not drawing when using maxscaledenom" acoording to 5.0.1
changelog)
