Dear Peter,
I was researching the same thing a year and a half ago, and did not
get the any useful answers. Even on a mapserver list, nobody could
point me in the direction how to grab the ID of a WFS feature with the
mapscript - outside Cartoweb. I got only as far as successfully
labelling the WFS layer in Cartoweb.
If you get any further, please post the results to the list.
