thats normal.
editing a layer automaticaly activate it.

hit cancel and then manualy unselect the layer in the layer tree

if you want to deselect the layer on edit submit, you must extend the edit 
plugin so you can use the filter "layer_unselect" to deactivate the 
auto-activated layer.

if you are using cartoweb 3.4 there is a bug with map caching where the map 
image isnt always refreshed after edition, but the effect is usualy that the 
new point added doesnt show up on the image, which seems to be different 
from your problem. anyway, that bug was solved in cartoweb 3.5
