well, beside configuring your proxy to allow the server to connect to internet in one way or another, I dont really see what can be done

  Yes, this could be indeed. I'm connecting via a proxy. If I disable it, I can't connect to internet.
  I tried to put the adresses of my wms url's in the "url that don't use proxy" but it doesn't change anything.

  Can I do something for that?

            the plugin try to access the wms server url with these parameters added:

            &SERVICE=WMS&REQUEST=GetCapabilities&VERSION=1.1.1

            if the answer is not valid, you get the "Can't get server capabilities" error message is displayed



            you can easily try manualy to type that request in a browser and see if the server answer with some valid GetCapabilities answer
