if you are working with tar from GnuWin32 on Windows, remove it and use
unzip instead. I had the same problem and a Google search showed that
it seems to be common on Windows. With unzip everything works fine. Two
issues in this context:<br>
<br>
1. The Cartoweb setup scrip will not decompress the downloaded archive
if the <Cartoweb3>\include folder already exists. So I had to
delete it first.<br>
<br>
2. My complete Cartoweb installation did not work after upgrading to
the 3.4 version of the includes. Even a fresh installation from CVS did
not work. It turned out to be problem with the Smarty version bundled
with 3.4. Smarty seems to produce different names for the created
cached templates. Finally, I replaced the smarty folder of the includes
by the one from version 3.3 and everything worked again. Since I am
working on a Windows environment only, I am not sure if other platforms
have the same problem.<br>

text file, named "version" and containing "3.4.0" (with no line
return!) in the include folder. This file tell the setup script what
version of the include files are installed.</font></div>

installed you can use again the cw3setup script to complete the setup
