In IE, when the page is made wider, the text moves to the center of the page but
the map image stays at its original position.

It should be possible for IE only to connect to the window.onresize event and
move the map layer to a new location.  This would need quite a bit of testing to
make sure all the other DHTML state is aware of the new position.
