Julien,
I'm not clear on what will be required of an existing user to upgrade with
respect to custom widgets and their use of MLT given the middle section of your
final comment. 

Will the user be required to edit the WidgetManager.php to get what we've been
discussing to work? Will they have to make that edit for the work you have done
to be accessible? If that is the case, why not add the line in to the code for
the release and not ask the user to do so? 

If editing WidgetManager.php is not required for the enhancement you've
introduced and users will be able to upgrade without editing anything in their
custom widgets or core chameleon, for what reasons might I find it necessary for
each widget should have its own MLT?
