Okay, I appreciate what you are saying regarding not wanting to put the code in
the WidgetManager due to higher memory usage. It's unfortunate that all this
work leaves us in a similar place as we were originally. Users with custom
widgets are still going to have to go and edit all of their custom widgets to
get them to work with the upgrade. I guess that's just the way it is.

I can't say it's an optimal resolution, but don't see any alternatives. One
could argue that you have given the clients a quicker editing solution. They
only have to add in two lines of code to the start of their InitDefault() rather
than having to track down each individual line where they access the MLT and add
in a parameter. That certainly is an improvement. 

Has the documentation been updated to reflect this alternate approach for people
who are upgrading custom widgets?
