We need to add another check before dbase_open is called

    // open the dbase file if necessary
    if ( !isset( $dbfFile ) )
    {
        if (!extension_loaded('dbase'))
        {
          $dbasemodulename = 'php_dbase.'.PHP_SHLIB_SUFFIX;
          dl( $dbasemodulename );
        }
        $dbfFile = dbase_open( $szFileName.'.dbf', 2 );
    }
