[Chameleon] scalehints

Hi list,

is there a possibility to have the Chameleon "Map widget" use a certain
set of scalehints?

We have ECW raster layers which, when read at a scale different from the
original scale, take a really long time to render (this is a known problem
in GDAL). So in order not to have them read in scales different from the
original data, we need to have the map client fixed to a certain set of
scales.

Is this possible, or how would one go about creating this functionality?
