[Chameleon] DHTML Legends

Does anyone have an example of and DHTML renderer for an XML theme that I could look at?
 I am trying to create a tree legend but I'm having trouble getting it to work.  I am
very new to DHTML and HTML as well as JavaScript.  This probably explains why I'm
having trouble:)  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks
