Bart's guess was right: it seems that a new argument has been added to 
OGR_G_CreateFromWkb() between GDAL 1.2.6 and 1.3.0.

For now you'll have to stick to GDAL 1.2.6 or modify the php_ogr source 
to handle the extra argument.
