Client side is WinXP with SP2. Browser is IE 6.0.2900.2180. Windows and
IE are the same on working and not working machine. I know that sounds
crazy...

Server is SUSE Linux with MS 4.4.1:
MapServer version 4.4.1 OUTPUT=GIF OUTPUT=PNG OUTPUT=JPEG OUTPUT=WBMP
SUPPORTS=PROJ SUPPORTS=FREETYPE SUPPORTS=WMS_SERVER SUPPORTS=WMS_CLIENT
SUPPORTS=WFS_SERVER SUPPORTS=WFS_CLIENT INPUT=POSTGIS INPUT=OGR
INPUT=GDAL INPUT=SHAPEFILE

Chameleon is version 2.
