[Chameleon] units problem

hi all,
I'm pretty new with Chameleon ...
My first test was working well untill I tried using keymap minibuttons.
in my .map file, scalebar units is setted in meters, 3 intervals and the initial scalebar shows
0, 1, 2, 3km
when I use the zoom-in minibutton with the keymap
scalebar shows 
e.g. 0, 180000, 360000, 540000km
does it depends on projection?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
