[Chameleon] Display error...

Hello,
since a while I try to fix a problem with my web site, sometimes the map
doesn't load, the spiner 'loading map, please wait...' displays but also the
icon 'Image broken'...

If I copy the image adress and paste it in a new window, the map displays.

I think the problem comes from the time needed  for the mapserver to produce
the image...where can I  augment the time the webserver look for this image?

the error log shows :
"[notice] child pid 21249 exit signal Segmentation fault (11), possible
coredump in [fgs]/www

any ideas?
