[Chameleon] Many tmp files

Hi
 
How can I reduce tmp files. 
Is there any way to delete old mapfile after production of the new one via php and always keep one tmp mapfile or one tmp_session_id folder. Is necessary to keep so much files? 
I prefer killing old files dynamically via php and not using command script (bat file).  
Is that hard to do.
