[FGS] PostGres-PostGis Install?

Have any changes been made to the Postgres and Postgis modules to make them
install more successfully, or should I follow Bart's directions at
http://lists.maptools.org/pipermail/foss-gis-suite/2005-September/000314.html?


Is there any reason to not configure it the way that Bart has?
