[FGS] fgs-mapserver-php-4.10.0-linux-i386.tar.gz upgrade problem

I recently upgraded my fgs mapserver installation using the newly posted
module (fgs-mapserver-php-4.10.0-linux-i386.tar.gz).  The installer
reported that it had been successfully installed, however my php code
refuses to work with the new mapscript.so.  I get the following error at
the line that attempts to dynamically load the module:

Warning: dl(): (null): Unable to initialize module Module compiled with
module API=20050922, debug=0, thread-safety=0 PHP compiled with module
API=20020429, debug=0, thread-safety=0 These options need to match in
/home/user/fgs/www/htdocs/fivekb1_deb.php on line 62

Googling the error suggests that mapscript.so has been compiled against
a different version of php to what is installed with the fgs package.
Is this right and if so any idea how I can fix it?
