[FGS] installation problems

That makes sense, but I'm running the i386 version, I think, with the 5.6.0
version.  That version loaded with no errors.  Is there a difference in the
installation details?  I do not know about the ia32-libs, but will try to
check.

The installer script detects the platform you are working on and try to 
extract the corresponding package.  I can see three choices:

1- if you installed the ia32-libs, modify the script to always ask for 
"i386" package
2- build FGS on your machine
3- ask Mapgears to do a FGS 64
