[FWTools] gdal_translate SDTS (.ddf) to tiff and/or jpeg?

Hi Frank,

Thanks for the quick reply-- now I'm running it on the proper catalog
file and I get this error:

>> gdal_translate -of JPEG 1259CATD.DDF output.jpeg

>> ERROR 6: JPEG Driver doesn't support data type Int16. Only eight
bit byte bands supported.

I tried using the -non_strict option, but that only outputs a big
white square on a black boundary!

here's a link to the SDTS tar (downloaded via the Alexandria Digital Library
webclient, only about 400K) in case you (or anyone else) have a moment
to test it out and see where I've gone wrong...
