[Geotiff] geoTIFF jai problem

Hi all,

I am new to geoTiff-JAI and it does ease up the use of geotiff processing. But I am facing a problem with cating the XTIFFDirectory to GeoTIFFDirectory. When the following lines are executed, 

XTIFFEncodeParam param = new XTIFFEncodeParam();
GeoTIFFDirectory newDir = (GeoTIFFDirectory)param.getDirectory();

I get the following error:
 
    java.lang.ClassCastException

I have used the same code as TestGeoTIFF.java as provided in sourceforge.net as a test module. 

Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.
