[Geotiff] Orthophoto in Fathoms?

   Moments after I hit send, the user sent me the listgeo dump. Fate is so predictable. 
Here it is. Interesting parts are:

ProjLinearUnitsGeoKey (Short,1): Linear_Fathom
"Units = other" in the GTCitationGeoKey (which nobody tries to parse, AFAIK)
Projection Linear Units: 9014/(unknown) (1.000000m)


   The corner coordinate values are correct for the area, if interpreted as meters.

   I did some Googling, and found much discussion about different programs handling (or 
not) these fields and it seems like maybe ESRI perhaps incorrectly ignores this field 
entirely, and therefore is (wrongly) immune to this problem caused by Imagine writing 
wacky units.

   I'm still not sure why Imagine got it in its head to use Fathoms though.
