[Geotiff] Compiling libgeotiff on Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

Hi all,

I'm trying to compile the latest version of geotiff on Mac OS X  
Leopard, but when I run configure, I get the following error:

Undefined symbols:
   "_main", referenced from:
       start in crt1.10.5.o
ld: symbol(s) not found
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status


So far, I've not been able to solve this problem and it's really  
putting me in a bind... does anybody have any suggestions?
