[Geotiff] GeoTIFF in JavaScript?

A colleague and I have been implementing a online-only open source point cloud viewer at http://plas.io and one of the annoying challenges is that ASPRS LAS [1] files use GeoTIFF keys as their coordinate system description formats. I was wondering if anyone essentially has any kind of port of the key handling and dictionary lookup of libgeotiff to JavaScript that's open source.
Another option would be to compile libgeotiff to javascript using emscripten, which might work but seems like a lot to simply interpret keys.
Does anyone else have a need for GeoTIFF interpretation in JavaScript?
