Hi Paul,
in kaLegend.js I have changed line 135:

this.domObj.removeChild( aLayers[i].kaLegendObj );

with:

  *try*{this.domObj.removeChild( aLayers[i].kaLegendObj );}
	    *catch*(e){};

Before switching between maps with diferent layer number from higher
(number) to lower kaLegend.js crashed.
Now It updates the legend.
