[ka-Map-users] How to get at mouse movement events?

Hey Paul: Is there a reason those hooks were not in the initial implementation? I want to
make sure there wasn't a big technical problem you saw when writing kaNavigator. I'd like
to be able to do stuff like echoing the cursor position as the mouse is moved (in map
coordinates). We have users that really dig that capability and use it in conjunction with
a GPS.

Steve,

you can't access them directly as the ka-Map core hooks these events for
use by official 'tools'. Assuming that you would want to grab these
events in some 'mode' of operation, you can look in kaTool.js. You can
either write a new tool that does what you want (use kaNavigator as a
reference), and then provide a UI to manage activation of your tool/the
kaNavigator tool ... or modify kaNavigator so that it does what you want
and then use that in place of the kaNavigator in the main html page.

Cheers

Paul
