[ka-Map-users] ?Cheat-Sheet for Tool/Index Interoperability?

As a new user and a non-js programmer I am experiencing a few puzzles when
trying to mix-and-match some of the various tools available for ka-map!

For example, I like the kaZoomer tool which works off-the-shelf using the
iframe.html index page;  Yet I need to implement the 'link to this view'
tool, and would like to experiment with rubber band zoom.

My first questions then are general ones:

Are there basic interoperability issues (ie given the transient nature of
CVS)  that would effectively preclude a non-js programmer from
mixing-and-matching certain tools (such as choosing kaZoomer over the
default zoom bar?);

Is there a cheat-sheet or other way of recognizing what-works-with-what?

And the puzzles that I *really* wanted to figure out which led me to
back-up and ask the above basics:

Can/(How can) kaZoomer be implemented with the other demo indexes.html; and
What are guidelines for working with  'link to this view' ?

Can RubberBandZoom be altered to work with the middle mouse button (ie so
that (always) left button = pan  and (always)  middle button =rubberzoom
with no need to switch tools.


I know that 'Learn Javascript' is the best answer for me at this point,
especially for that last question :)
