[ka-Map-users] WFS-Client

Hi Chris,
we need to clean it up.
If everybody is interested we can post on common CVS but there are
some points to discuss:
1) xhr.js
We find some bugs inside so we created the xhttp.js
Now konqueror doesn't crash anymore and there is a callXML to get XML
objects (real AJAX). Maybe we can have a look and if Paul agree we
can update xhr.js (or just add xhttp.js to the CVS)

2) tooltips.
We made a tooltip interface looking for a light solutions with a fast
response. It seems it works fine. You can try to open tips near
borders and you'll see how the tip and the map are re-centered when
the tip is out of the viewport. We arrived more than 500 points
without mayor problems for the browser. Maybe we can push further
implementing the KAMAP_EXTENTS_CHANGED event. Maybe KAMAP_MAP_CLICKED
event could be used to close tooltips.
This module is naturally independent from the WFS client so you can
use it as you like.
This can be easily added to the CVS

3) WFS client
the client is nothing more than a GML parser. At the moment it works
with a WFS source but it can be easily changed.
KML is (more or less) a subset of GML.
Anyway this is a way to use an external server source.

4) Xerces libs
you need your gdal to be compiled with Xerces libs the manage GML
(maybe everybody knows...)

maybe there's something more...

ciao
Lorenzo
