[ka-Map-users] smart approach to combining map elements

Greetings,

Is there a smart approach to showing multiple map elements such as a key map 
AND legend at the same time, on the left-side pane?

right now i am able to hard code something like that, in startUp.js ... but 
was wondering if there is a better way to do this.
