[ka-Map-users] Slow performance

Hallo there,
I have implemented ka-map 1.0.
Performance to load the tiles into the browser is extreemly slow. Can 
someone tell where I can improve performance appart from changing the values

$tileWidth = 200;
$tileHeight = 200;
$metaWidth = 6;
$metaHeight = 6;

in the config.php?
