[maplab-users] functions adding incorrect paths/filenames when adding/changing dataMatt Doggett mdoggett@coas.oregonstate.eduThu, 27 Mar 2003 12:43:15 -0800

Well, seems like I'm on a roll here so what the heck, why not post another problem? :) First, is this the right place to post bugs in MapLab? If not, I won't trouble the rest of you who seem to not have any problems at all with this program....is it me or what? Now to the bug: Whenever I use the "selectFile" or "selectDirectory" buttons (these are actually javascript functions) to choose a file or directory, the returned value is (almost) always either an incorrect filename or path. For example 1. when I click the button to select the FontSet file in the MAP object, in the file select window I navigate to tutorial/etc and click on fonts.txt and click OK. I get the following result in the properties window: ../../../../../../../../../..//tutorial/etc/fonts.txt Hmmmm. I think this path is wrong! 2. In the tutorial, there's an example to add the bathymetry layer. So in the Layer object, Data property, clicking on the selectFile button, select Files of Type=all files, select bath_mapserver.tif, click Open returns the following filename: ./bath_mapserver which will fail because it does not include the .tif suffix (why was it dropped? Don't know...must be a bug!). I could go on, but the point is, I've learned NOT to trust the selectFile or selectDirectory functions as they are unreliable. Not a showstopper as I can always manually type in the correct path/name. matt Matt Doggett Spatial Climate Analysis Service Oregon State University 316 Strand Ag Hall Corvallis, OR 97331 (541)737-9153 mdoggett@coas.oregonstate.edu > -----Original Message----- > From: maplab-users-admin@dmsolutions.ca [mailto:maplab-users- > admin@dmsolutions.ca] On Behalf Of Matt Doggett > Sent: Thursday, March 27, 2003 11:26 AM > To: bronsema@dmsolutions.ca > Cc: maplab-users@dmsolutions.ca > Subject: RE: [maplab-users] Maplab frustration! > > I have successfully installed php4.2.3 (instead of 4.3.2) and got it > working correctly with apache.
