Thanks so much :o) That was the problem. Two things: -The file I was pointing the SYMBOLSET parameter to was not a .sym file -It matters how you type the directory structure to point to the file. I typed the entire dir structure. All it wanted was for example was "../etc/<filemname.sym>" Rebecca Rebecca Astolfo GIS Specialist IT Division Environment Canada -----Original Message----- From: Daniel Morissette [mailto:morissette@dmsolutions.ca] Sent: May 6, 2003 12:28 PM To: Astolfo,Rebecca [Burlington] Cc: maplab-users@dmsolutions.ca Subject: Re: [maplab-users] Symbol Picker error > PHP Warning: MapServer Error in msLoadSymbolFile(): (<):(0) in > C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\msapps\maplab-2.0-RC5-dev\htdocs\common\picker\symbol_pic ker.php on line 114 PHP Fatal > error: Failed to open map file c:/tmp/ms_tmp//3eb6df219f8db.map in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\msapps\maplab-2.0- > RC5-dev\htdocs\common\picker\symbol_picker.php on line 114 > Is your SYMBOLSET parameter set to point ot a valid symbol file? This error is a parser error that says that it found an unexpected "<" character on the first line of the file (line 0). Looks as if the SYMBOLSET was pointed to a HTML file for instance. -- ------------------------------------------------------------ Daniel Morissette morissette@dmsolutions.ca DM Solutions Group http://www.dmsolutions.ca/ ------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ Maplab-users mailing list Maplab-users@dmsolutions.ca http://lists.dmsolutions.ca/mailman/listinfo/maplab-users
