This is probably an overkill, but you could load/save your mapfile using
MapEdit and that would do the trick (MapEdit is part of MapLab,
http://www2.dmsolutions.ca/mapserver/maplab/).  Of course it would be
better if there was a nice little script to do that, but since nobody
had responded yet I thought I would pass the suggestion along.
