[Mapserver-users] MINSCALE and MAXSCALE

My GIS ignorance is showing...  what does the scale number
in MINSCALE and MAXSCALE in the mapfile correspond to physically?
Is the standard map scale type number?  (1 to 25,000 or whatever?)
