hi,
i am using Digital Chart of the World as a data source for Mapserver.
The map application enables a user to enter a GPS coordinate (decimal =
degrees) and=20
plot the point against the layers from DCW.=20
In the website (http://www.maproom.psu.edu/cgi-bin/dcw/dcwarea.cgi?Asia) =
where the data was downloaded, the projection info is
Projection GEOGRAPHIC=20
Units DD=20
Spheroid CLARKE1866=20
The application seems to run fine and shows the GPS point correctly =
(didn't do any accuracy test, though).
Question:
1. Is this acceptable=20
If not, which is better,
(a) reproject the GPS point to the Geographic projection
or=20
(b) reproject the map layers to WGS84.
TIA
Nyon
