Folks,
A number of people have indicated an interest in having MapServer be able to
generate and return raster data output that does all the region selection and
resampling of MapServer, but that preserves the original pixel values of the
source raster files. This is most useful for serving elevation data layers, or
other kinds of scientific data.
I have implemented a first version of this in the CVS version of MapServer, and
wrote up the documentation at:
http://mapserver.gis.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?RawDataOutput
This is obviously still quite experimental but if anyone wants to do such a
think I would encourage them to test out this new feature.
Best regards,
