[mapserver-users] Demo

Simon -

Check to see that you are set up to (a) allow the Web user execute permission on that file and (b) your Web site is set up to permit executables to be run from that site. The behavior you're getting usually comes from the Web server being unable to execute the binary, so it treats it like any other non-displayable file type and prompts you to download it.

Subject: [mapserver-users] Demo

Hi all,

I know that this is a common error, and have searched the archives for
information relating to the problem that I am having, and am unable to
find any answers.

I have installed the MapServer executable file on a personal web
server, my operating system is NT 4.0, when I open the initial file to
activate the demo I am asked to download or save mapserv.exe from its
present location.

Is this to do with how the initilal file is set up?

Regards
