[mapserver-users] Newbie question about sizing and panning

I'm new this product and I have downloaded several of the Tiger county shape files. I'm looking for a way after selecting a given file to "go to state" programmatically; that is, I want to be able to position and scale the map so that the selected state fills the entire map area. 

What is the best way to accomplish this?
