[Mapserver-users] Polygon simplification without ESRI genfeat?

I posted a MapScript version of the thinning script written in avenue
that is distributed with ArcView to the MapServer WIKI in the perl
MapScript section. Works fine although it's a bit slower than I might
like. Could always port to C. ;-)

Has anyone any idea how to simplify polygon in a ESRI shp file not using
genfeat script from ESRI?
