[Mapserver-users] RE: Point in Polygon question

My application need to produce a index map of fish surveys incidence.
I have prepared a regular-spaced vector polygon grid (5 nautical miles).
Based on a query, if the survey point falls within a
particular grid, it will be classed based on a certain value to produce a
color-coded map. If more than 1 point falls into the same grid, it will be
averaged out.

Anyone has done this? or could give some pointers.
