"We", i.e. the company I work with, are selling something like that
already. It's called MapMedia MapServer Suite and includes a
pre-compiled binary, command line tools, pre-configured demos, a bunch
of documentation and so on. It's only available in german so far; this
will change soon. By the way, as you are from Germany (or at least your
company is) I am really wondering how you managed to escape our
shameless advertising ;)
I haven't posted about it here because I wasn't sure if I should use
this list as an advertising platform; but now I got a good reason to
mention it :) With the package you will also get a copy of our great
MapServer handbook.
