Hi Stefan,
you have to place the mapserv executable in the cgi-bin path of your
webserver, then if you access mapserv via
http://localhost/cgi-bin/mapserv.exe you should get a message saying "No
query information to decode. QUERY_STRING is set, but empty" - then mapserv
is working.
