[Mapserver-users] Layer scalability question

List,
I've downloaded several FWS wetlands shapefiles from the fws.gov site. I
then organized them into their UTM zones. My directory structure looks
as follows:
Data
-National
-FWS
-UTM_ZONE_17
-UTM_ZONE_18
-UTM_ZONE_19
In each UTM_ZONE directory, I've run tile4ms to create a tileindex to
cover that layer.
These are all wetlands polygons, but in different UTM zones, so the
layer projection info would be different for each one.
This leads me to believe that I'd need a layer in my mapfile for each
UTM zone, which would quickly lead me to start thinking about the
MAXLAYERS limit.
My question is this: Is there a way to declare one layer for all these
polygons in the subdirectories using tile4ms? (Put a tileindex in the
above FWS directory that would encompass all the tile indices in the
downstream directories?) I'm thinking not, but you never know.
Thanks much,
Kieran
