I know for a fact that it won't :) It does fail though of course, but it
will complain in a different way; in the first layer 'relief' for
example, it will try to interpret the next three tokens after 'OFFSITE'
as numbers. This will fail because 'END' obviously isn't a number. The
error I have seen so far in this case is a 'getInteger' error.

But maybe this has changed ... I stumbled over this some time ago, and
it may have changed. ymmv.
