createLegendIcon makes an imageObj of the proper format and size.
drawLegendIcon draws colors/shapes into the imageObj (passed in
as the 5th argument).

Maybe use Perl-GD or ImageMagick to copy and paste individual
class legendIcons into one image per layer?
